Developing Population-Scale Analytics to Evaluate Long-Term Health Care Utilization and Comorbidities Associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders

This project uses large-scale de-identified patient phenotype data from across the 13.4 million-patient UC Davis Health System, to develop a model of mental -and physical-health issues related to autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Through the development of a comprehensive warehouse of patient data, the research team will develop methods that can assist in improving understanding of ASDs' relationship to diseases and disorders that may co-occur with ASD at different ages in patients' lifetimes. Through exploration of health-care utilization across socio-economic and geographic regions of California, this research may lead to improved understanding of how care plans that address complex diseases and disorders can be created.
