A Translational Approach to Development of Electrical Brain Stimulation for Cognitive Enhancement

Electrical Brain Stimulation (EBS) research has been shown in recent years to help modulate the brain functions of the prefrontal cortex, such as learning and memory. This study will explore the neurophysiological mechanisms of action of EBS and optimize its use in enhancing function of the prefrontal cortex. The ultimate goal of this project is to contribute non-pharmacological and non-invasive means of treatment to patients with schizophrenia or other mental illnesses.
